Our verdict on the Brezza
Buy the turbo. Normally the cheapest version of a car is the one to avoid, but the Brezza reverses that. The 1.0 turbo opens the range at ₹7,49,900, below the 1.5 LXI, and it makes 110 PS and 170 Nm against the 1.5's 103 PS and 139 Nm, with its torque arriving much lower in the rev range. Choose the 1.5 only if you want the automatic, which the turbo does not offer, or CNG. Every Brezza now has six airbags and ESP, and the car scored five stars in Bharat NCAP in July 2026. The ZXI+ trims bring a 10.1-inch screen, ventilated seats, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera, but at ₹11.4–13.7 lakh they cost close to bigger SUVs such as the Grand Vitara and Creta.
Good things
- 1.0 turbo makes 170 Nm from 2,000 rpm, 31 Nm more than the 1.5
- Turbo variants undercut the equivalent 1.5 by ₹61,500 to ₹85,000
- Six airbags, ESP and hill hold across the range, and five stars in Bharat NCAP
- Underbody CNG tank leaves the boot usable
Could be better
- The turbo is manual only, so automatic buyers must take the 1.5 and its six-speed AT
- ZXI+ Turbo at ₹11.41 lakh is close to Grand Vitara and Creta entry money
- Rear brakes are drums on every variant
- Dealer listings split out dual-tone paint, so prices for the same trim vary by up to ₹16,000

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: the cheaper engine is the better one
The Brezza is Maruti's sub-four-metre SUV: 3,995 mm long on a 2,500 mm wheelbase, with a 328-litre boot. The July 2026 facelift added a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, a 10.1-inch touchscreen on the top trim and an underbody CNG tank, so the CNG version no longer loses boot space. Prices run from ₹7,49,900 to ₹13,70,500 ex-showroom across 13 variants.
There are now three powertrains. The 1.0 turbo makes 110 PS and 170 Nm and uses a 48V mild-hybrid system, but it only comes with a six-speed manual. The 1.5 petrol makes 103 PS and 139 Nm with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic. The 1.5 CNG is manual only. Claimed economy ranges from 19.96 to 21.09 km/l for the petrols and 26.9 km/kg for CNG.
Every variant has six airbags, ESP and hill hold, rear AC vents and keyless entry. VXI brings the touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. ZXI adds the sunroof, wireless charger, push-button start and projector headlamps. ZXI+ adds the 10.1-inch screen, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.
Which variant should you buy?
The VXI Turbo at ₹8,64,900. It has the stronger engine, the touchscreen with wireless phone mirroring and a rear camera, and it costs ₹66,000 less than the 1.5 VXI. ZXI Turbo adds a sunroof and wireless charger for about ₹1.44 lakh more. The ZXI+ Turbo is well equipped, but at ₹11.41 lakh it overlaps with larger SUVs.
Turbo or 1.5 petrol?
Turbo, unless you need an automatic or CNG. The 1.0 turbo has 7 PS and 31 Nm more than the 1.5, and its torque peaks at 2,000 rpm instead of 4,400 rpm, so it pulls more easily in town and on the highway. It is also cheaper at every trim. The 1.5 has four cylinders and a proven automatic, which some buyers will prefer.
Is the CNG worth it?
If you drive a lot, yes. The CNG tank now sits under the car, so you keep the boot, and the claimed 26.9 km/kg makes it much cheaper per kilometre than petrol. It costs about ₹1.05 lakh more than the 1.5 petrol LXI and ₹68,000 more at VXI. It comes only with a manual and stops at the ZXI trim.
How does it compare with the Tata Nexon?
The Nexon offers turbo petrol, diesel, CNG and electric versions, more automatic choices and more features at the top end. The Brezza counters with a simpler, proven range, strong fuel economy, a five-star Bharat NCAP rating and Maruti's large service network. If you want a turbo with an automatic, the Nexon is the answer. If you are happy with a manual turbo, the Brezza is better value.
