Toyota Glanza
Toyota’s version of the Maruti Baleno, built by Maruti and sold through Toyota dealers. It has the same roomy cabin, 1.2 petrol, AMT and factory CNG options, and six airbags as standard. It suits buyers who prefer Toyota’s showrooms and service, but a facelift is due in mid-October 2026, so we would wait.

Our verdict on the Glanza
The Glanza is a Baleno with a Toyota badge, and the choice between them comes down to the dealer, the deal and the warranty terms. G is the sensible grade. The bigger point is timing: Toyota is due to launch a facelifted Glanza on 14 October 2026, which should follow the updated Baleno with a new three-cylinder engine, better claimed economy and possibly ADAS. Unless you are offered a large discount on outgoing stock, we would wait and compare the new car before buying.
Good things
- Six airbags and stability control from the base E grade
- Roomy cabin for a hatchback
- Factory CNG claims 30.61 km/kg
- Head-up display and 360-degree camera are rare at this price
Could be better
- A facelift is days away, so today’s car is about to be replaced
- The automatic is an AMT, with a pause on upshifts
- Generally priced a little above the equivalent Baleno
- CNG only on S and G grades

Toyota Glanza: a Baleno with a Toyota badge, about to change
The Glanza is built by Maruti Suzuki alongside the Baleno and sold by Toyota. The current car has a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol with 90 PS and 113 Nm, a five-speed manual or AMT, and a factory CNG version making 57 kW. Claimed figures are 22.35 km/l for the manual, 22.94 km/l for the AMT and 30.61 km/kg on CNG.
There are four grades, E, S, G and V, from ₹6.73 lakh to ₹9.99 lakh ex-showroom. Six airbags and stability control are standard. G adds the 9-inch screen, rear camera and alloys, and V adds the head-up display, 360-degree camera and cruise control. Factory CNG is offered on the S and G grades, with a manual gearbox only.
Reports say a facelifted Glanza launches on 14 October 2026. The matching Baleno update brought a three-cylinder engine with better claimed economy and Level 2 ADAS on its top trim, so the new Glanza is likely to change in similar ways. If you buy now, ask for a discount that reflects the outgoing model.
Should you wait for the facelift?
Yes, unless the discount on the outgoing car is large. The facelift is reported for 14 October 2026. Waiting a few weeks lets you compare the new engine, features and prices, and the old car’s resale value will fall once the new one is in showrooms.
Which variant should you buy?
G. It has the 9-inch touchscreen, rear camera, alloys, LED headlamps, push-button start and rear AC vents. V adds the head-up display, 360-degree camera and cruise control for about ₹83,000, which is worth it only if you will use them.
Glanza or Baleno?
They are the same car underneath. Compare the on-road quotes, discounts, warranty and the service centres near you. Some buyers prefer Toyota’s dealer experience; others the size of Maruti’s network.
Petrol or CNG?
The CNG costs ₹86,000-88,000 more than the petrol manual and claims 30.61 km/kg. It suits heavy city use. It is manual only, has less power and loses boot space to the tank.
