Our verdict on the Harrier EV
The Harrier EV is a convincing electric SUV. Even the base Adventure has six airbags, twin 10.25-inch screens with wireless smartphone mirroring, cruise control and vehicle-to-load charging, and the 65 kWh battery claims 538 km. The 75 kWh pack stretches that to 627 km, and the QWD dual-motor version, with 396 PS, is quick and capable on bad roads. The concerns are practical ones. You need reliable home charging, Tata’s service quality varies by city, and long-term resale of large EVs is still unproven. Top Empowered QWD versions at over ₹29 lakh run into premium territory. We would buy the Adventure S 65 for most families, or the Fearless+ 75 for frequent highway driving, and skip the ACFC bundles if you can arrange a cheaper home charger.
Good things
- Long claimed range: 538 km (65 kWh) to 627 km (75 kWh)
- Strong standard equipment, including six airbags and dual 10.25-inch screens
- Dual-motor QWD with 396 PS and 504 Nm from ₹26.79 lakh
- Vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging
Could be better
- Level 2 ADAS only on Empowered trims from ₹27.79 lakh
- Service quality and EV expertise at Tata dealers vary by city
- Resale value of large EVs is still uncertain
- Home fast charger is a ₹50,000 extra on every variant

Tata Harrier EV: the long-range electric SUV with AWD on offer
The Harrier EV is the electric version of Tata’s mid-size SUV, with a 502-litre boot and 205 mm of ground clearance. It is sold in Adventure, Adventure S, Fearless+ and Empowered trims, with a matte-black Stealth edition. Prices run from ₹21.79 lakh to ₹30.04 lakh ex-showroom, or ₹50,000 more with the home AC fast charger bundle.
Two batteries are offered. The 65 kWh pack, rear-wheel drive only, claims 538 km. The 75 kWh pack claims 627 km with rear-wheel drive and 622 km with QWD, Tata’s dual-motor all-wheel drive, which makes 396 PS and 504 Nm and adds boost and off-road modes. Every version uses a single-speed automatic, with paddle shifters to adjust regenerative braking.
Equipment is generous from the start: six airbags, stability control, dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and auto AC. Adventure S adds a panoramic sunroof, Fearless+ adds a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and JBL audio, and Empowered adds Level 2 ADAS, a 14.5-inch screen and a powered tailgate.
Which variant should you buy?
The Adventure S 65 at ₹22.29 lakh suits most buyers. It has the sunroof, big screen and safety kit, and 538 km of claimed range. Step to Fearless+ for the camera and ventilated seats, and to the 75 kWh pack only if you regularly drive long distances.
65 kWh or 75 kWh?
The 75 kWh pack adds about 90 km of claimed range for ₹1 lakh on the Fearless+. If most of your driving is in the city with home charging, 65 kWh is enough. For frequent intercity trips, the bigger pack reduces charging stops.
Is QWD all-wheel drive worth it?
QWD adds a front motor, lifting output to 396 PS and 504 Nm, plus terrain modes for loose surfaces. It costs ₹1.5 lakh over the equivalent RWD 75. Worth it if you drive in hilly or rough areas; for city and highway use, RWD is enough.
Is the ACFC bundle worth it?
Each variant has an ACFC version that bundles a home AC fast charger for ₹50,000. Compare the cost of an approved third-party wallbox and installation first. A home charger of some kind is essential, since this car makes the most sense when charged overnight.
