Tata Curvv EV
Tata’s coupe-styled electric SUV, now sold only with the larger 55 kWh battery and a claimed 502 km range. It suits buyers who can charge at home, want a well-equipped five-seater with a big 500-litre boot, and like its sloping-roof looks enough to accept a little less rear headroom.

Our verdict on the Curvv EV
The SeriesX update made the Curvv EV much easier to recommend. Tata dropped the smaller battery and cut the entry price, so ₹17.19 lakh now buys the 55 kWh pack, a claimed 502 km and a long list of equipment. The Accomplished X is the one to buy. The Empowered X adds Level 2 ADAS and nicer audio, but ₹2.2 lakh is a lot for them. The sloping roof costs some rear headroom, and Tata’s service network for EVs is still uneven in places, so check the nearest workshop before you buy. Against the Hyundai Creta Electric, compare range, charging speed and after-sales support in your city.
Good things
- Full 55 kWh battery now from ₹17.19 lakh
- 500-litre boot, large for the class
- Generous standard kit: panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats
- Supports vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging
Could be better
- Sloping roofline cuts rear headroom for tall passengers
- ADAS only on the ₹19.39 lakh Empowered X
- Only two trims, so no cheaper, simpler version
- Real-world range will be well short of the 502 km claim

Tata Curvv EV: the big battery is now the only battery
The Curvv EV is a 4,310 mm coupe-SUV with a sloping roofline and a 500-litre boot. In May 2026 Tata replaced the range with SeriesX: the 45 kWh battery was dropped, and both remaining trims use a 55 kWh pack driving a 167 PS, 215 Nm motor at the front wheels. Claimed range is 502 km on the MIDC cycle.
There are two trims. Accomplished X at ₹17.19 lakh has six airbags, ESC, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, twin 10.25-inch screens and ventilated seats. Empowered X at ₹19.39 lakh adds Level 2 ADAS, a 12.3-inch screen, JBL audio and a powered tailgate. Both trims have the same battery, motor and claimed range, so the choice is purely about features.
DC fast charging runs at up to 70 kW, taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes. The car can also power appliances or charge another EV. Tata advertises a lifetime battery warranty on SeriesX cars, reported as 15 years from first registration; read the terms before relying on it. It also supports V2L and V2V.
Which variant should you buy?
Accomplished X 55. It has the same battery, motor and range as the top trim and already has the features most people use. The Empowered X’s ₹2.2 lakh premium buys ADAS, a bigger screen and better speakers. Take it only if you will use adaptive cruise on highways.
Is the 502 km range real?
No car matches its MIDC figure in normal use. Expect noticeably less, especially at highway speeds and with the AC on. For daily city use and the occasional intercity trip with a fast-charge stop, the 55 kWh pack is comfortable.
How does it compare with the Hyundai Creta Electric?
The Creta Electric has a conventional SUV shape and more rear headroom. The Curvv EV has a bigger boot and a lot of standard equipment at its entry price. Compare range, charging and on-road prices, and test the back seat if you carry tall adults.
Should you buy an EV at this price?
Yes, if you can charge at home or at work. Running costs are far below a petrol SUV’s. If you rely on public chargers or drive long distances regularly, check the charging network on your routes first.
