Our verdict on the Curvv
The Series X update made the Curvv better value. The lower trims now carry the features that matter, so a ₹11 lakh Pure X has a large touchscreen, climate control and cruise, and the Creative X+ adds the sunroof and 360-degree camera for under ₹13 lakh. The car itself offers a big boot, good ground clearance and a diesel option. The compromises are the sloping roof, which costs rear headroom, and a top trim that jumps to ₹18.5 lakh for ADAS and the GDi engine. We would buy a Creative X+ and skip the Accomplished trims unless you specifically want ADAS.
Good things
- Lower trims are well equipped after the Series X update
- 500-litre boot and 208 mm of ground clearance
- Diesel option, with a DCA automatic on the top trim
- Diesel and petrol DCA cost the same at each trim, which makes the choice easy
Could be better
- Sloping roof eats into rear headroom for tall passengers
- ADAS and the GDi engine only come on the ₹18.5 lakh Accomplished X+
- Diesel automatic is top-trim only
- Accomplished X+ is a ₹3.2 lakh jump over the Accomplished X DCA

Tata Curvv: more kit lower down the range
The Curvv is Tata’s SUV-coupe, sitting between the Nexon and the Harrier. In September 2026 Tata relaunched it as the Curvv Series X, cutting the line-up to six trims, all named with an X: Smart X, Pure X, Pure X+, Creative X+, Accomplished X and Accomplished X+. The aim was to move popular features down the range.
Engines are a 1.2 turbo petrol with 120 PS and 170 Nm, a 1.2 direct-injection turbo petrol with 125 PS and 225 Nm, and a 1.5 diesel with 118 PS and 260 Nm. The petrol and diesel come with a six-speed manual, and a seven-speed DCA automatic is available on petrol from Pure X and on the diesel at the top trim. The GDi engine is only on the Accomplished X+ DCA.
Prices run from ₹10 lakh for the Smart X to ₹18.75 lakh for the Accomplished X+ diesel DCA, with blacked-out #DARK editions available from Pure X+ for ₹20,000–25,000 more. The car is 4,308 mm long with a 2,560 mm wheelbase, 208 mm of ground clearance and a 500-litre boot, which comfortably takes a family’s luggage for a long trip.
Which variant should you buy?
Creative X+. It adds the panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, digital driver display and auto lamps and wipers to everything below it, at ₹12.91 lakh with the petrol manual. Pure X at ₹11 lakh is the value choice. The Accomplished X+ makes sense only if you want Level 2 ADAS or the GDi engine.
Petrol or diesel?
The diesel costs ₹1.3 lakh more than the petrol manual at the same trim, the same as the petrol DCA. If you drive long distances, the diesel’s 260 Nm and better economy make it worth it. For mostly city use the petrol is fine, and with the DCA it is easier in traffic.
Manual or automatic?
The petrol DCA is ₹1.3 lakh over the manual and is offered from Pure X up. The diesel automatic only comes on the top Accomplished X+, at ₹18.75 lakh, so a diesel buyer on a budget has to accept a manual.
How does it compare with the Hyundai Creta?
The Curvv undercuts the Creta at most trims, has a bigger boot and offers the sunroof and 360-degree camera lower down. The Creta has a more upright cabin with better rear headroom, a stronger resale record, and its diesel automatic is available on more trims.
