Two motors make 510 PS and MG claims 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with a claimed 580 km range from a 77 kWh battery. Our verdict on the Cyberster
The Cyberster is an unusual offer in India: an open-top electric sports car with genuine supercar acceleration for around ₹82 lakh, well below what a petrol sports car with similar pace costs. It is well equipped and the claimed range is generous for a car of this type. Be realistic about ownership, though. It seats two, has a modest boot and 107 mm of ground clearance, so speed breakers need care. Sales and service go only through MG Select outlets in a handful of cities, and resale for a low-volume electric roadster from a mass-market brand is hard to predict. Buy it as a second car if you love the idea; do not buy it expecting it to behave like a Porsche or BMW on resale or service reach.
Good things
- Supercar-level acceleration for well under ₹1 crore
- Long claimed range for a sports car
- Generous equipment: ADAS, Bose audio, heated and powered seats
- Rare, eye-catching design with scissor doors and a fabric roof
Could be better
- Only 107 mm of ground clearance; careful driving needed over bumps
- Two seats and a small boot limit everyday use
- Sales and service limited to MG Select outlets in a few cities
- Resale value is uncertain for a niche EV from a mass-market brand

MG Cyberster: supercar pace, roadster roof, MG badge
The Cyberster revives MG's old roadster tradition in electric form. It is a two-seat convertible, 4,535 mm long and only 1,329 mm tall, with an electrically folding fabric roof that MG says opens or closes in about 10 seconds at up to 50 km/h. The doors open upwards electrically, scissor-style, and can be opened from the key fob.
Power comes from two motors, one on each axle, making a combined 510 PS and 725 Nm. MG claims 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. The 77 kWh battery gives a claimed 580 km on the MIDC cycle, and MG quotes a DC fast charge on a 144 kW charger in about 40 minutes, and a home wall-box charger can be installed for overnight top-ups.
The cabin has a digital driver display flanked by two smaller screens, plus a console screen, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bose audio and heated powered seats. Safety equipment includes Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and four airbags. The car is sold only through MG Select, MG's separate premium showroom network.
Can you use the Cyberster every day?
Only with compromises. The boot takes a couple of soft bags and there is little cabin storage. The ground clearance of 107 mm means you must take speed breakers and steep ramps slowly. It works best as a second car for weekends and open roads.
Is the Couture Edition worth the extra money?
Only if you specifically want the designer finish. It costs about ₹5 lakh more for paint, badges and trim, with no mechanical changes. Just 50 are being sold, but rarity has not reliably meant better resale in India.
Where can I get it serviced?
Only at MG Select outlets, which are in a limited number of large cities. If you live far from one, ask the dealer how it handles pick-up, breakdowns and warranty work before you buy.
