Kia EV6
Kia's low-slung electric crossover, sold in India in one fully loaded GT-Line AWD version with an 84 kWh battery and 325 PS. It is quick, comfortable and charges very fast on the right charger. It suits buyers who want a premium EV with a sporty feel and do not need a tall SUV.

Our verdict on the EV6
The EV6 is one of the most enjoyable EVs in its price range. Two motors give strong, effortless acceleration, the ride is settled, and on a 350 kW charger it adds a lot of range very quickly. It is also generously equipped. The problems are price and practicality. At about ₹66 lakh it sits close to luxury-badged EVs, and its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, is roughly ₹10 lakh less with more claimed range and a roomier cabin. The low roofline and 178 mm ground clearance need care on bad roads and steep ramps. Buy the EV6 if you want the sportier drive and all-wheel drive; if you mainly want space and range, the Ioniq 5 is the better value.
Good things
- Fast, smooth all-wheel-drive performance
- Very quick charging on high-power DC chargers
- Fully loaded: ADAS, head-up display, ventilated seats, Meridian audio
- Long claimed range of 663 km
Could be better
- About ₹10 lakh dearer than the related Hyundai Ioniq 5
- Low stance and 178 mm ground clearance need care on rough roads
- Rear headroom is tighter than a conventional SUV's
- 350 kW chargers that unlock its fastest charging are still rare in India

Kia EV6: a fast electric crossover with no options to choose
The EV6 is built on the same dedicated electric platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, but Kia shapes it as a lower, sportier crossover. It is 4,695 mm long with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, so rear legroom is generous, though the sloping roof eats into headroom. India gets one version, the GT-Line AWD, with an 84 kWh battery and two motors.
Combined output is 325 PS and 605 Nm, enough for 0-100 km/h in a claimed 5.3 seconds. The certified range is 663 km; expect noticeably less at highway speeds. Its 800-volt system can charge from 10 to 80% in about 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger, though on the more common 50 kW chargers the same top-up takes over an hour.
Equipment is complete: Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, eight airbags, an augmented-reality head-up display, ventilated and heated front seats that recline into a relaxation position, a 14-speaker Meridian system and vehicle-to-load power. Boot space is quoted at 520 litres, with a small front storage area too.
EV6 or Hyundai Ioniq 5?
They share their platform. The Ioniq 5 costs about ₹10 lakh less, claims a longer range and has a roomier, more upright cabin, but it is rear-wheel drive only. The EV6 is faster and more engaging thanks to its two motors. If space and value matter most, choose the Ioniq 5; if you enjoy driving, the EV6 justifies some of its premium.
How fast does it really charge?
The headline 18-minute figure needs a 350 kW DC charger, which remains uncommon in India. On widely available 50 kW chargers, Kia quotes about 73 minutes for 10 to 80%. Plan your trips around the faster chargers on your route if you can.
Is the ground clearance a problem?
At 178 mm it is lower than most SUVs. It manages normal speed breakers, but steep basement ramps and broken rural roads need a careful approach. If your daily route has bad roads, consider a taller EV.
What are the other options at this price?
Look at the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the BYD Sealion 7 and entry luxury EVs such as the BMW iX1. The luxury badges bring a more upmarket image but often less power or range for the money.
