Ferrari 849 Testarossa
The 849 Testarossa replaced the SF90 Stradale as Ferrari's most powerful series-production car. A twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors deliver 1,050 PS through all four wheels, and it can cover a short distance on electricity alone. It is for collectors and serious drivers who want Ferrari's flagship hybrid and accept a price above ₹10 crore.

Our verdict on the 849 Testarossa
The 849 Testarossa is staggeringly fast and, thanks to its electric front axle, easier to drive quickly than its numbers suggest. The plug-in system also means it can leave home silently and cover short trips on electricity. But at ₹10.37 crore ex-showroom it costs nearly twice as much as a 296 GTB, and on Indian roads you will rarely use the difference. It sits low, Ferrari's service network covers only a few cities, and early depreciation on top-end supercars can be harsh unless the car is in demand. We would also wait to see whether Ferrari revises its India prices once the India-EU trade agreement takes effect. Buy it as a flagship you truly want, not as a rational purchase.
Good things
- Enormous performance with all-wheel-drive traction
- Can drive short distances on electricity alone
- Ferrari's most advanced hybrid technology in a series car
Could be better
- Costs roughly twice as much as the 296 GTB
- Low ride height needs care on Indian roads; Ferrari does not publish ground clearance
- Limited Ferrari service network outside the big metros
- India prices may change once the India-EU trade deal applies

Ferrari 849 Testarossa: Ferrari's 1,050 PS hybrid flagship
The 849 Testarossa takes over from the SF90 Stradale at the top of Ferrari's series range. Its 3,990 cc twin-turbo V8 makes 830 PS and 842 Nm on its own. Three electric motors, two at the front and one at the rear, lift the total to 1,050 PS. Ferrari claims under 2.3 seconds from 0-100 km/h and a top speed above 330 km/h.
A 7.45 kWh battery allows up to 25 km in electric-only eDrive mode, enough for quiet early-morning starts and short errands. The 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox is shared with Ferrari's other hybrids. Ferrari quotes a WLTP weighted fuel figure of 9.3 litres per 100 km, which assumes regular charging; expect far more with spirited driving.
The car is a strict two-seater with limited luggage space. Ferrari dealers in India are concentrated in a few metro cities, so servicing may mean transporting the car. Insurance, tyres and brakes on a ₹10 crore-plus car are expensive, and the optional Assetto Fiorano pack adds track-focused parts at extra cost.
How does the 849 Testarossa compare with the 296 GTB?
Both are Ferrari plug-in hybrids. The 849 has a V8, all-wheel drive and 1,050 PS; the 296 GTB has a V6, rear-wheel drive and 830 PS. The 296 costs about ₹5.40 crore against ₹10.37 crore for the 849. On public roads the cheaper car gives most of the thrill.
Will the India-EU trade agreement lower the price?
Possibly. Indian motoring media reported in 2026 that Ferrari was taking orders at lower prices on some models ahead of the deal. No revised 849 price had been published when we checked. Ask the dealer in writing which price applies to your order and delivery date.
What does it cost to run?
Beyond fuel, the big costs are insurance, tyres, brakes and scheduled servicing at a Ferrari dealer. With few dealers in India, factor in transport to a workshop. Charging at home keeps short trips electric, which helps a little with fuel bills.
