Maserati Grecale

Maserati's mid-size SUV, sold in India with a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid four-cylinder in two outputs and a 530 PS V6 in the Trofeo. It is the cheapest way into a new Maserati and suits a buyer who wants something rarer than a German luxury SUV and lives near one of Maserati's few Indian dealers.

  • Maserati India lists it from ₹1.14 crore, below the 2024 launch price
  • All-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic on every version
  • Trofeo gets a 530 PS twin-turbo V6 shared with Maserati's sports cars
  • 2,901 mm wheelbase for a roomy rear seat
  • 64-litre fuel tank across the petrol range
Our pick at each price
  • Grecale₹1.14 crore

The entry Grecale has the same body, cabin and all-wheel drive as the Modena for ₹27 lakh less. 300 PS is plenty for Indian roads, and the smaller 19-inch wheels should ride better on broken surfaces.

  • Trofeo₹2.00 crore

Only if you want the V6. It is far quicker and sounds special, but at ₹2 crore it is priced against serious performance SUVs, and fuel and tyre costs rise sharply.

Our verdict on the Grecale

The Grecale is a good-looking, comfortable SUV with a cabin that feels different from the German norm, and Maserati's own India price list now starts well below where it launched in 2024. The four-cylinder versions are the sensible buys; the Trofeo is for buyers who want V6 performance and can live with its cost. Our concerns are ownership ones: Maserati has very few dealers and workshops in India, resale values for the brand have been weak, and some figures, such as ground clearance and fuel economy, are not published. Media price lists also disagree with Maserati's, and a facelifted Grecale has already been revealed abroad, so ask the dealer about the exact price and model year before booking. If easy servicing and resale matter most, a German rival is the safer choice.

Good things

  • Distinctive design and a cabin that feels genuinely Italian
  • All-wheel drive and a smooth 8-speed automatic as standard
  • Trofeo's 530 PS V6 gives real performance-car pace
  • Maserati India's current prices are well below the launch figures

Could be better

  • Very small dealer and service network in India
  • Weak resale history compared with German luxury brands
  • Ground clearance and fuel economy are not published by Maserati India
  • Price lists differ between Maserati and Indian media; an updated model is already out abroad

Maserati Grecale: an Italian alternative to the German default

The Grecale is Maserati's only SUV on sale in India, offered with petrol power here and as the separate electric Grecale Folgore. The petrol range has three versions. The Grecale and Grecale Modena share a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an electric booster, rated at 300 PS and 330 PS. The Trofeo uses Maserati's 3.0-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 with 530 PS and 620 Nm. All have all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic.

At 4,846 mm long with a 2,901 mm wheelbase, the Grecale is a full five-seater with a usefully long rear bench. The cabin uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a digital clock that doubles as a voice-assistant display, and Maserati Connect. Options such as adaptive cruise control, ventilated seats and a head-up display come in packages, so check what your car actually includes before comparing prices.

Maserati India currently lists the range from ₹1.14 crore to ₹2.00 crore ex-showroom, noticeably lower than the 2024 launch prices of ₹1.31 crore to ₹2.05 crore. Media sites still show older or different figures. A facelifted Grecale was revealed abroad in June 2026, and Indian prices of European imports may move again once the India-EU trade agreement takes effect, so confirm the price on the day you book.

Grecale, Modena or Trofeo: which should we buy?

The Grecale and Modena use the same 2.0 mild-hybrid engine; the Modena adds 30 PS, 20-inch wheels and sportier styling for ₹27 lakh more. We would take the entry Grecale. The Trofeo is a different car in character, with a V6 and claimed 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, but at ₹2 crore it only makes sense if performance is the main reason you are buying.

What does it cost to run?

Maserati India does not publish a fuel-economy figure, and the numbers on Indian media sites disagree, so we have left mileage out. Expect high costs for premium petrol, large performance tyres and specialist servicing, more so on the Trofeo. Insurance on a car at this price is a large yearly bill.

Is the dealer network a problem?

It can be. Maserati has very few showrooms and workshops in India, mostly in the big metros. If you live away from them, routine servicing may mean a long drive or a pickup, and parts can take time to arrive from Italy. Check where your nearest workshop is before you buy.

Will prices change with the India-EU trade deal?

Maserati India has not announced anything linked to the trade agreement. Reports say import duties on European cars will fall in stages once it takes effect, which could lower prices of imports such as the Grecale. Prices have already dropped since launch, so ask the dealer for the current figure and any price-protection terms.
