Aston Martin Vantage
Aston Martin's smallest and least expensive car in India, a two-seat front-engined sports car with a 680 PS twin-turbo V8 driving the rear wheels. It suits a buyer who wants a proper British sports car to drive themselves, and can live with two seats, a low nose and a very small dealer network.

Our verdict on the Vantage
The Vantage is now a far easier car to justify in India than it was a year ago. Lower import duty under the India-UK trade deal has taken roughly ₹1.8 crore off the coupe, which puts it in the same conversation as a Porsche 911 for the first time. What you get is a front-engined V8 with real character, a well-sorted chassis and a cabin that finally has a modern touchscreen. What you give up is practicality, the reach of a wide service network and the strong resale that a 911 enjoys. Aston Martin has only a handful of outlets in India, in the big metros, so owners elsewhere should ask how servicing and parts will work before signing. Buy it if the look and the V8 matter more to you than the easier ownership of the Porsche.
Good things
- Large drop in price after the India-UK trade deal
- 680 PS V8 with rear drive and an electronic differential
- Modern cabin with a proper touchscreen and Apple CarPlay Ultra
- Rarer on Indian roads than a 911 or an AMG GT
Could be better
- Only two seats and a low nose that needs care over speed breakers
- Very small Aston Martin dealer network in India
- Resale is weaker than a Porsche 911
- Options and bespoke paint push the price up quickly

Aston Martin Vantage: a front-engined V8 at a much lower price
The Vantage is the entry point to Aston Martin in India. It is a strict two-seater with the engine behind the front axle and the gearbox at the rear for balance. Aston Martin quotes a 50:50 weight split. The S version on sale here gets 680 PS and 800 Nm from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic and an electronic rear differential.
There are two body styles. The coupe costs ₹3.15 crore and the Roadster, with a power-folding fabric roof, costs ₹3.35 crore, both indicative ex-showroom. These prices reflect lower import duty under the India-UK trade deal; before it, the coupe was close to ₹5 crore. Aston Martin's own figures give 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a 325 km/h top speed.
Inside, a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch driver display replace the old Mercedes-sourced screens, with Apple CarPlay Ultra and wireless charging. Adaptive Bilstein dampers are standard, and carbon ceramic brakes are an option. Day-to-day, the low ride height and long bonnet need care in Indian traffic.
Should I buy the Vantage or a Porsche 911?
With the new lower prices, the Porsche 911 is the obvious rival. The Porsche is more practical, with small rear seats, has a far wider dealer network in India and holds its value better. The Vantage has more power, a V8 soundtrack and a rarer badge. If you plan to sell within three years, the 911 is the safer money. If you plan to keep it and enjoy it, the Vantage makes a strong case.
Is the Roadster worth ₹20 lakh more?
Only if you will drop the roof often. The Roadster keeps the same engine and gearbox, but the roof mechanism adds weight and Aston Martin's WLTP figure is slightly worse. Winter mornings in north India suit it; a Mumbai or Chennai summer does not. For most buyers the coupe is the better car.
What about servicing and running costs?
Aston Martin has very few sales and service points in India. Owners away from the big metros should confirm whether the dealer sends technicians or collects the car, and how long parts take to arrive. Expect premium tyre and brake costs, and fuel use near 8 km/l on the WLTP cycle, which will be lower in city traffic.
