Aston Martin DBX707

The DBX707 is Aston Martin's high-performance SUV, with a 707 PS 4.0 twin-turbo V8, a 9-speed wet-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive. It suits a buyer who wants a five-seat British luxury SUV with supercar pace, but in India it now has to justify itself against the newer, more powerful DBX S.

Our verdict on the DBX707

The DBX707 was the car that made Aston Martin's SUV properly fast: 707 PS, 900 Nm and a claimed 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with carbon-ceramic brakes, air suspension and a roomy five-seat cabin. The problem in India is the price picture. The latest dated figure we can find is ₹5.89 crore, but that appears to predate the India-UK trade agreement, and the newer DBX S, with 727 PS, is now listed at about ₹4.15 crore. Aston Martin itself calls the DBX S its flagship SUV. Running costs are high: the WLTP figure is about 7.0 km/l, tyres are 22 inches, and dealer support is limited to a few cities. Unless a dealer prices the 707 clearly below the DBX S, we would buy the DBX S or compare it with the Lamborghini Urus SE and Porsche Cayenne GTS.

Good things

  • Huge V8 performance with carbon-ceramic brakes
  • Roomy five-seat cabin and a 638-litre loadspace
  • Air suspension with up to 235 mm clearance in off-road mode
  • Distinctive styling and a hand-built feel inside

Could be better

  • Listed price looks out of date after the India-UK trade deal
  • The newer DBX S has more power and a lower listed price
  • About 7.0 km/l on the WLTP cycle; fuel tank size not published
  • Very small dealer and service network in India

Aston Martin DBX707: fast, but check the DBX S first

The DBX707 is the high-performance version of Aston Martin's DBX SUV. Its 3,982 cc twin-turbo V8 makes 707 PS at 6,000 rpm and 900 Nm from 2,750 to 4,500 rpm. Power goes through a 9-speed automatic with a multi-plate wet clutch instead of a torque converter, and an active all-wheel-drive system with an electronic rear limited-slip differential. Aston Martin claims 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h.

Standard hardware includes adaptive triple-chamber air suspension, a 48V active anti-roll system, carbon-ceramic brakes with 420 mm front discs, 22-inch forged wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a 360-degree camera, 3-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, and driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist. The 2025 update brought a new cabin with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch driver display. Bowers & Wilkins audio is optional.

The DBX707 is 5,039 mm long, 1,998 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall, with a 3,060 mm wheelbase. Loadspace is 638 litres, or 491 litres below the load cover. Ground clearance is 190 mm in GT mode and 235 mm in the highest off-road setting. Aston Martin's WLTP combined figure is 14.2 l/100 km, about 7.0 km/l. It does not publish the tank size on the DBX707 page, so we have left it out.

DBX707 or DBX S?

Aston Martin now calls the DBX S its flagship SUV. It has 727 PS against the 707's 707 PS, and CarDekho lists it at about ₹4.15 crore after the India-UK trade deal, while the latest dated DBX707 figure is ₹5.89 crore. Unless the dealer quotes the 707 clearly below the S, the DBX S is the better buy.

What does the India-UK trade deal mean for the price?

The agreement, which has started to take effect this year, lowers import duty on British-built cars. Some Aston Martin prices listed in India have already dropped, but we have not found a dated post-deal price for the DBX707. Treat ₹5.89 crore as an upper reference and ask the dealer for a written quote.

Is it usable off the road?

More than most fast SUVs. The air suspension raises the body to 235 mm of ground clearance in off-road mode, and it can wade through 500 mm of water. The 22-inch wheels and low-profile summer tyres are the limit, so stick to gravel and broken tarmac rather than proper trails.
