Rolls-Royce Ghost
The Ghost is the Rolls-Royce saloon for owners who drive themselves as often as they are driven. It shares the Cullinan's 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 and all-wheel drive in a lower body, and the Extended version adds rear space for chauffeur use. It is the least expensive petrol Rolls-Royce on sale in India.

Our verdict on the Ghost
For most buyers who want a Rolls-Royce saloon, the Ghost is the one we would choose. It is easier to park and place on the road than a Phantom, and all-wheel drive with all-wheel steering keeps it settled at speed. The standard car suits owners who drive; the Extended is the one to buy if a chauffeur will. Running costs are high: about 6.4 km/l on Rolls-Royce's own WLTP figure, first-year insurance near ₹50 lakh on Autocar India's Delhi estimate, and service only in a few metros. Prices are also unsettled after the India-UK trade agreement of 15 July 2026 cut duty on qualifying UK-built cars, and Rolls-Royce has not published new India prices, so get a written dealer quote before booking. If you want a chauffeur car and the badge is not the point, a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class costs far less.
Good things
- Same V12 and all-wheel drive as the Cullinan for less money
- Extended version gives a proper chauffeur-driven rear cabin
- More manageable size than the Phantom
Could be better
- Rolls-Royce's own WLTP figure is only about 6.4 km/l
- Rolls-Royce does not publish ground clearance; check your ramps on a test drive
- Service network limited to a few big cities
- No published India price list; prices changing after the India-UK trade deal

Rolls-Royce Ghost: the Rolls-Royce saloon for most buyers
Ghost Series II was revealed in 2024 and launched in India in December that year. It keeps the 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 and eight-speed automatic of the earlier Ghost, with all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. Rolls-Royce says the Black Badge version makes 29 PS and 50 Nm more than the standard car, which takes it to 600 PS.
The update brought new headlights with running-light graphics that sweep from the grille to the front wings, on a body Rolls-Royce gives as 2,148 mm wide. Inside, the Series II adopts the SPIRIT digital interface. The Extended version uses longer rear doors and openings to add 170 mm of space in the back, leaving the front of the car unchanged.
In India, Autocar India, CarDekho and ZigWheels agree on ₹8.95 crore for the Series II, ₹10.19 crore for the Extended and ₹10.52 crore for the Black Badge, ex-showroom. These are the launch figures from before the India-UK trade agreement of 15 July 2026, which cut duty on qualifying UK-built cars. Rolls-Royce has not published revised prices, so ask the dealer what you will actually pay.
Ghost or Ghost Extended?
If you sit in the back most of the time, the Extended's extra 170 mm of rear space and longer doors are worth having. If you drive, the standard car is easier to park and costs about ₹1.24 crore less. Both have the same engine and all-wheel drive.
Ghost or Cullinan?
Both use the same V12 and all-wheel drive. The Cullinan sits higher and costs about ₹1.4 crore more on Autocar India's figures. On good roads the Ghost is the nicer car to be driven in; pick the Cullinan only if your roads or driveway need the height.
Is the Black Badge worth the extra money?
It adds 29 PS, 50 Nm, darker styling and its own trim for about ₹1.57 crore over the Series II. The extra pace is hard to use on Indian roads. Buy it for the look and the character, not for the numbers.
Will Ghost prices drop after the India-UK trade deal?
They may. The agreement, in force since 15 July 2026, cut duty on qualifying UK-built cars from 110% to 30% within a yearly quota, and reports expected Rolls-Royce prices to fall. No new Rolls-Royce India price list had appeared when we checked in October 2026. Get the price in writing from the dealer before you pay a booking amount.
