Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Cullinan is Rolls-Royce's SUV: a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, all-wheel drive and a tall five-seat cabin built as much for being driven in as for driving. The Series II update brought a new face, the SPIRIT digital interface and rear-seat streaming. It suits a buyer who wants a Rolls-Royce that copes with broken roads and steep farmhouse ramps as easily as a hotel porch.

At about ₹10.33 crore before options it has the same V12, all-wheel drive and cabin as the Black Badge. The Black Badge's extra 29 PS changes little on Indian roads; we would spend the difference on Bespoke options or keep it.

Our verdict on the Cullinan

The Cullinan is the Rolls-Royce that suits Indian roads best. It sits high and drives all four wheels, so broken surfaces and steep ramps are not a worry, and the rear seat is as calm and well finished as any car here. The costs are real: Rolls-Royce's own WLTP figure works out to about 6 km/l, first-year insurance runs to tens of lakhs, the dealer network covers only a few metros, and options can add crores. Prices are also changing after the India-UK trade agreement came into force on 15 July 2026, cutting duty on qualifying UK-built cars. Rolls-Royce has not published new India prices, so treat our figures as indicative and get a written dealer quote. If you do not need the height, the Ghost uses the same V12 and all-wheel drive for less.

Good things

  • Tall, all-wheel-drive body copes with poor roads and steep ramps
  • V12 refinement of the saloons with an SUV's practicality
  • Rear seats with streaming screens and Wi-Fi suit chauffeur use

Could be better

  • Rolls-Royce's own WLTP figure is only about 6 km/l
  • Service only through dealers in a few big cities
  • No published India price list; prices are changing after the India-UK trade deal
  • Options and Bespoke work can add a large sum to the price

Rolls-Royce Cullinan: the Rolls-Royce built for bad roads

The Cullinan Series II uses Rolls-Royce's 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, rated at 571 PS and 850 Nm in standard form. Drive goes to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel steering helps a car of this size turn in tight spaces. The Black Badge version raises output to 600 PS and 900 Nm, and Rolls-Royce recalibrates the gearbox and throttle so it responds more sharply.

The Series II changes are mostly about design and technology. The front gets new vertical lights and a reshaped grille, 23-inch wheels are offered for the first time, and the dashboard gains an illuminated glass fascia, a clock cabinet holding a Spirit of Ecstasy figure and the SPIRIT digital interface first used in the Spectre. Rear passengers can stream from their own devices to the rear screens.

In India, Autocar India lists the Series II at ₹10.33 crore and the Black Badge at ₹11.92 crore ex-showroom, while other sites still show the 2024 launch prices of ₹10.50 crore and ₹12.25 crore. Since the India-UK trade agreement took effect on 15 July 2026, reports say UK-built luxury cars should get cheaper, but Rolls-Royce has not published new figures. Ask for a written quote.

Is the Cullinan worth it over the Ghost?

Only if you need the height. The Ghost costs about ₹1.4 crore less on Autocar India's figures, uses the same V12 and also drives all four wheels. Choose the Cullinan if your roads, driveway or farmhouse call for a taller car, or if you want a higher seating position. For travel on good roads, the Ghost is the nicer car to be driven in.

What does a Cullinan cost to run?

Rolls-Royce's WLTP figure is 16.0-16.8 litres per 100 km, about 6 km/l, and city traffic will be worse. Autocar India estimates first-year insurance in Delhi at about ₹57 lakh for the Series II. Tyres for its large wheels are costly, and servicing is only at Rolls-Royce dealers in a few cities, so plan for collection and drop-off if you live elsewhere.

Will the price fall after the India-UK trade deal?

Possibly, but by how much is not yet clear. From 15 July 2026 the agreement cut duty on qualifying UK-built cars from 110% to 30% within a yearly quota. Industry estimates of a 20-25% fall have not been matched by a published Rolls-Royce India price list. Ask the dealer whether your car falls within the quota and get the price in writing before paying a booking amount.
