Nissan Gravite

Nissan's version of the Renault Triber: a seven-seat MPV under four metres long, with removable third-row seats and six airbags as standard. It suits large families on a tight budget who need occasional seven-seat capacity more than performance.

  • Acenta₹6.68 lakh

At ₹6.68 lakh, Acenta adds the touchscreen with wireless phone mirroring and rear AC vents for the second and third rows, which matter most in a seven-seater. It is the sensible buy for families.

  • N-Connecta₹7.38 lakh

Choose the N-Connecta AMT (₹7.95 lakh) if you want an automatic: it is the cheapest one, and it adds a rear camera and roof rails. Remember the 72 PS engine feels slow with seven on board.

Our verdict on the Gravite

The Gravite gives you seven seats, six airbags and ESC for the price of a hatchback, and the clever seat layout lets you remove the third row for a big boot. That makes it a practical tool for large families who mostly drive in town. The trade-offs are real: the 72 PS 1.0 engine is slow when full, there is no turbo, the third row suits children or short trips, and Nissan's service network is thin in many towns. It is closely related to the Renault Triber, so compare both on price and dealer distance. If you need adult-sized third-row space or highway pace, an Ertiga or Carens costs more but does the job properly.

Good things

  • Seven seats, six airbags and ESC at a low price
  • Removable third row and flexible seat layouts
  • Rear AC vents for all rows from Acenta
  • 182 mm ground clearance

Could be better

  • 72 PS engine feels slow with a full load
  • Third row is best for children or short trips
  • Little boot space with all seven seats in use
  • Nissan's service network is thin in many towns

Nissan Gravite: seven seats on a hatchback budget

The Gravite is Nissan's compact MPV, launched in February 2026 and built in Chennai on the same base as the Renault Triber. It is under four metres long but seats seven, with a second row that slides and reclines and splits 60:40, and a third row whose two seats can each be taken out. Nissan counts more than 150 seating and luggage layouts, from a two-seat van to a full seven-seater.

It uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol making 72 PS and 96 Nm, with a 5-speed manual (19.3 km/l claimed) or a 5-speed AMT (19.6 km/l). There is no turbo option, so performance with seven people and luggage is modest. Every version has six airbags, ESC, traction control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring and rear parking sensors.

It is 3,987 mm long with a 2,636 mm wheelbase and 182 mm of ground clearance. With the third row removed, Nissan quotes 625 litres of boot; with all seven seats in place the space is small. Nissan gives a 3-year/1 lakh km standard warranty and 3 years of roadside assistance, extendable to 10 years at extra cost.

Can adults sit in the third row?

For short city trips, yes, but it is tight on legroom and headroom for long journeys. The Gravite works best for families with children or for occasional seven-seat use. For regular adult use in the third row, look at an Ertiga or Carens.

How is it different from the Renault Triber?

They share the engine, gearbox and platform. The Gravite has its own styling, trim names and equipment split. Compare the price of the trim you want and check which brand has the nearer workshop.

Is the Launch Edition worth it?

It adds about ₹44,500 over the Tekna for a dashcam, JBL speakers, an air purifier and an aero kit, all fitted as accessories. If you want those items, it is a fair bundle; otherwise the standard Tekna is the better buy.
