McLaren Artura
The Artura is McLaren's plug-in hybrid supercar, pairing a 3.0 twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor for a combined 700 PS in McLaren's current specification. It can cover a short distance on electricity alone and is the cheapest McLaren listed in India. It suits a buyer who wants a modern mid-engined car for town and weekend drives, and who checks the latest price with the dealer, as McLaren prices are changing after the India-UK trade deal.

Our verdict on the Artura
The Artura is a clever car: light for a hybrid, very quick, and able to slip through town on electric power. Against the Ferrari 296 GTB it costs less on paper and offers similar ideas. The catch is timing. McLaren's V8 cars are reported to be getting cuts of up to 38% in India after the India-UK trade deal, while the Artura, as a hybrid, does not qualify for the lower duty yet. If those cuts are confirmed, the GTS could cost less than the Artura and the 750S only a little more. Prices are changing, so get written quotes for all three before choosing. One price site also lists the Artura as discontinued, so confirm the dealer can still supply a new car.

McLaren Artura: the plug-in McLaren for city and weekend
The Artura was McLaren's first series-production hybrid supercar and reached India in May 2023 at ₹5.10 crore ex-showroom. It sits on a new carbon fibre platform, with a 2,993 cc twin-turbo V6 behind the seats and an axial-flux electric motor in the gearbox. McLaren now quotes 700 PS and 720 Nm combined, up from 680 PS at launch.
A 7.4 kWh battery gives up to 33 km of electric driving on the WLTP cycle, enough for quiet starts and short errands after charging at home. Power goes to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an electronic locking differential. McLaren quotes a DIN kerb weight of 1,498 kg, and the only luggage space is a 160 litre front boot.
In India the Artura is sold and serviced by Infinity Cars in Mumbai. Autocar India and CarWale reported in June 2026 that it will not get the price cut planned for McLaren's V8 models under the India-UK trade deal, because hybrids are excluded from the lower duty for the first five years. That could leave the Artura poor value next to the GTS if those cuts happen.
Why will the Artura not get cheaper after the India-UK deal?
The deal cuts duty on British petrol cars with engines above 3,000 cc. The Artura has a 2,993 cc hybrid V6, and reports say hybrids do not get the lower duty in the first five years. The V8 750S and GTS do qualify, so their prices may fall while the Artura's stays put.
Can I drive the Artura on electricity alone?
Yes, for up to 33 km on McLaren's WLTP figure, at lower speeds. It needs charging to do that regularly. Without charging it runs as a normal petrol hybrid, and fuel use will be far higher than the weighted WLTP figure.
Is the Artura Spider sold in India?
We found no India price for the Artura Spider, so we do not list it. McLaren offers it in other markets with a folding hard top. Ask the Mumbai dealer if you want one; it would be an import with a quote on request.
