What leaves your account
Ex-showroom is the advertised number. This is the one you pay. Every line is shown separately, and the single line that cannot be known in advance is marked as an estimate rather than folded into the total.

| What you pay for | Amount |
|---|---|
| Ex-showroom priceThe maker's listed price (usually Delhi). Your city's can differ by a few thousand. | ₹5,83,900 |
| Road taxMaharashtra rate for a petrol car at this price | ₹64,229 |
| State cess2% road safety cess, charged on the tax rather than on the price. | ₹1,285 |
| Registration | ₹600 |
| Number plate (HSRP) | ₹800 |
| FASTag | ₹500 |
| Third-party insurance (3 years)Fixed by IRDAI. A new car must buy three years of cover up front. | ₹12,093 |
| Own-damage insurance (1 year)estimateMumbai is Zone A (metro). Set by each insurer, so this is an estimate. Shop it — the spread is wide. | ₹20,670 |
| On-road, approximately | ₹6,84,077 |
₹6,63,407 of that is fixed by rule — the price, the state’s tax, and the third-party premium IRDAI sets. The remaining ₹20,670 is own-damage insurance, which every insurer prices differently. It is the one line worth shopping, and the reason we show it separately instead of folding it into a single number.
Road tax is levied by the state, so it is the same in every city in Maharashtra. Your city changes the own-damage insurance: insurers rate the eight big metros (Zone A) a little higher than other cities (Zone B), and Mumbai is Zone A (metro). The ex-showroom price is the maker’s listed one, usually Delhi’s; your city’s can differ by a few thousand, and the dealer’s own handling charges vary from dealer to dealer.
